10 Beloved Comic Book Characters Movie Fans Hate
6. Ghost Rider
The start of the new Millennium was really not the best time for a lot of Marvel heroes but none had arguably a more woeful time of things than Ghost Rider.
Actor Nicolas Cage deciding to take an approach which he insisted would give the character more "depth", at the expense of a lot of the personality which made the character so popular in the first place was a questionable decision from the off, and it would be somewhat of an understatement to say it misfired.
Despite being a modest box office success, the film was panned by critics and fans alike who felt Cage's performance was totally not what the character should have been about, and Cage himself was nominated for a Golden Raspberry award for his performance as it was just that woeful.
Somehow, the film managed to get a sequel to the screen which was impressive feat enough in itself, only for it to be even more harshly received than its predecessor and well and truly put the nail in the coffin of not only Cage's career as a leading man but all future big-screen plans for the character.
