2. Saga's HUGE Death
Brian K. Vaughan and Fiona Staples announced that, after Saga #54, the series would go on a hiatus. The series has been lauded by everyone who's even looked at it for being literally one of the best ongoing comics ever written. That is why this death is huge and, makes for an equally huge spoiler.
MARKO DIES! The father of Hazel, right in the middle of a hero's journey, just up and gets killed. The death itself is sudden, emotional and designed to break the reader's heart. He is a main character, who has developed through so much that it carries a sense of numbness to coincide with the feeling of betrayal for who killed him.
The Will is a character who has gone through his own ups and downs, allowing for him to become a fan-favorite, even if not an altruistic person. The second he used Marko's mercy to be able to stab him through the back, he snapped the audience into remembering one critical thing that Hazel, the narrator of the story, said in one of the earlier appearance of the Will: he is a monster.
