The Justice League are DC's premier outfit, and even though there hasn't been a shortage of genuinely brilliant comics featuring the team over the last couple of years, they've lacked a genuine blockbuster. That's why it was so brilliant to see Scott Snyder take the reigns on the title after wrapping up Dark Nights: Metal, with artists Jorge Jimenez and Jim Cheung joining him for the ride.

Kicking things off with the epic Justice League: No Justice - a book that carried all the high-octane, high-concept silliness of Dark Nights: Metal - Snyder then went onto the main Justice League series and got off to a tremendous start by bringing back one of the team's most beloved lineups - that of the animated show's.

Yes, there were variations, but the original group comprised of Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, John Stewart, Martian Manhunter, Hawkgirl and Flash - albeit the Barry Allen version - were all there. Joining them were Aquaman and Cyborg, but much like the aforementioned cartoon show, Snyder has managed to find the perfect balance between light and dark, mastering each of the team's individual voices and imbuing the book with an uplifting spirit that reminds everyone that, although the League are a team first and foremost, they're still friends at the end of the day.
