10 Best Comic First Issues This Week (Dec 19th, 2018)

3. Livewire #1

Stan Lee Banner
Valiant Comics

Following the events of Harbinger Wars 2 where Livewire caused a nationwide blackout, she is now an enemy of the state. Standing against the government, she is on a mission to save the psiots, people with telepathic ability, from that very government.

Livewire, Amanda McKee, has been a staple character since the Summer of Valiant in 2012. In her tenure, she's been on the Unity superteam, worn the X-O Manowar armor and even began as the right-hand woman of the big bad himself, Toyo Harada.

Finally being able to take the spotlight, this brilliant comic doesn't play it as straightforward as one would think. Rather than making this a simple black-and-white book where Livewire is a hero facing off against the government, Vita Ayala writes this firmly in the grey to make the reader question whether or not Livewire is actually an antihero or an anti-villain.

Valiant Entertainment has been going strong since their massive relaunch of titles and this is one of their best books to date!
