10 Best Female Characters In The Batman Universe

9. Stephanie Brown

Stephanie Brown Batgirl
DC Comics

Stephanie Brown has gone through a few aliases since her debut in 1992, but she's remained a solid female character of the Batman world. First, she was the amateur crime fighter Spoiler; active in Gotham though quite distinct from what Batman was doing. Later, she had a short stint as the fourth Robin, before graduating to become the fourth Batgirl, before finally cycling back around to be Spoiler.

As the only character to be both Robin and Batgirl, she has a considerable claim to fame. However, she's overshadowed by others in both of those categories, and so arguably Spoiler is her most iconic role. Hardly DC royalty.

Having said that, it is nevertheless an impressive career, and Stephanie Brown has certainly earned her spot on the list.

The name Spoiler comes not because she posts leaks of the lastest Netflix hit on Twitter, but because she originally took up crime fighting to 'spoil' the schemes of her father, the nefarious villain Cluemaster. Since then, she's become a bonafide hero in her own right. Considering her dad is C-list at best, it's a good thing she stopped being held back by him.
