10 Best Marvel And DC Supervillains Who've Debuted Since 2000
8. Ultimate Reed Richards
Mister Fantastic-Reed Richards-has never been all that exciting in the mainstream Marvel Universe. Yes, he's stretchy, but Plastic Man does that better. And, yes, he's a genius, but wouldn't you rather read dialogue from genius Tony Stark than from genius Reed Richards?
But the Mister Fantastic in Marvel Comics' alternate Ultimate universe? That Reed Richards is something else.
Yes, he started as a typical genius hero. But this Reed Richard became a villain in the Ultimate Enemy storyline of 2010. And what a villain. Richards nearly kills the former love of his life Sue Storm, and eventually creates his own world populated by the Children of Tomorrow.
The goal here? To perfect the universe - a goal that doesn't bode well for the people and heroes already populating the earth. In his new villainous mode, Reed calls himself The Maker, and he's the best kind of villain: one who thinks he's actually doing good.
Best Moment:After being defeated by the Ultimate universe's top heroes at the end of the Ultimate Enemy saga and left abandoned in the Negative Zone, Richards uses the brains of his army of dead alien soldiers as a sort of computer system to repair a damaged teleporter.
It's Reed's way of getting back to earth to cause more trouble, and it's incredibly creepy.
