Onto an absolute classic now with The New Teen Titans: Judas Contract.
Despite only running for four issues, the Judas Contract storyline became so beloved by fans that it has been rewritten countless times since its debut in 1984.
It featured the Teen Titans facing off against their most dangerous foe yet, Deathstroke the Terminator. Center stage in this timeless tale is Dick Grayson in his relatively new role as Nightwing.
The battle against Slade Wilson is immensely important to Dick as the leader of the group. Not only does he have to keep his friends safe from the unkillable one-eyed death machine, but he has to prove to himself that he doesn't need Batman anymore.
This inner conflict between pride and duty helped turn Dick into the man we all know and love today.
