Namor generally doesn't seem like the type to have a lot of friends, especially of the superhero variety. In most team that he's in, he tends to be a bit of a loose cannon, just as likely to declare war on you as he is to be remotely civil. This goes doubly true for women, since we tend to only ever see Namor interacting with female superheroes in order to seduce them with his unexplainable fishy wiles.

So it's genuinely nice to see him get a little more depth in his life than being some sort of aquatic James Bond through his friendship with Hope Summers. After going on an arduous and slightly disturbing adventure, where we see the King of the Sea make out with a strange vaguely humanoid seahorse in order to save the day, the two grow a kind of platonic bond that's especially rare for Namor.

They mock each other at the end of the story, but this is all with a playful attitude of two old friends picking on one another, laughing and ribbing each other relentlessly.
