6. Oscorp

Doctor Doom Latveria
Disney

Oscorp came from the fertile minds of Stan Lee and Steve Ditko, and was first seen in Amazing Spider-Man #37 in 1966. It is a conglomerate created in the comics by scientist Norman Osborn. While in college, Norman studied chemistry, electrical engineering, and business administration. His professor, Mendel Stromm, formed a business partnership with his brilliant student. As Osborn put up the bulk of the financing, the company bares his name.

It was Stromm’s chemical research that would eventually land on the formula that would give Norman superhuman abilities and drive him completely insane. Using his own intellect to create weapons such as his pumpkin bombs, and adapting equipment created by his company like his Goblin Glider, Osborn created the persona of the Green Goblin and terrorized New York City until he was stopped by Spider-Man. The two would become implacable enemies who had an irreparable effect on each other's lives.

Oscorp employed a number of scientists who became villains through their work. Dr. David Patrick Lowell became Sundown after being drenched by his own chemicals. Dr. Nels van Adder was turned into a “Proto-Goblin” by his formula. And even Norman’s own son, Harry, was the Green Goblin on several occasions, thanks to the crazy chemical soup coursing through his blood.
