10 Best Supervillain Headquarters In Comics

5. LexCorp

Doctor Doom Latveria
DC Comics

Originally an aerospace engineering firm, LexCorp Incorporated is a multi-national corporation with interests in a diverse number of industries, sciences, and fields of study. Its headquarters is a 96-story-tall building in the New Troy area of Metropolis and it is solely owned by the often controversial Lex Luthor.

In the comics, LexCorp was created by writer Elliot S! Maggin and premiered in Superman #416 in 1986. Through legitimate buyouts and hostile takeovers, Luthor employed more than two-thirds of the population of the city at the height of his organization.

As a company, LexCorp once owned the Daily Planet, and the company was originally based in the paper’s building, but Lex thought the profit margins were too small and sold the Planet off. He does own two television networks that only speak of him favorably, and Luthor also has a communication network. LexCorp owns banks, oil companies, waste management, oil and utility companies, airlines, robotics, food, and entertainment venues, and much more.

In addition to his own genius and the devices he creates on his own, Luthor employs hundreds of scientists, engineers, and technicians to create the machines, weapons, and chemicals he uses in his personal war against Superman. He also employs an army of the best lawyers money can buy to get him out of any legal trouble his actions might incur. As such, Lex rarely stays in jail for any extended period of time.
