10 Best Times Superheroes Came Back From The Dead

8. Damian Wayne

Flash Francis Manapul
DC Comics

When Damian Wayne was killed while battling his brother/clone (brother clone?) it seemed that it was truly the end for Bruce's son.

He was never the most popular of characters and even though he'd started to turn the hate around it seemed that DC had decided to cut their losses and pull a Jason Todd. Even the story's writer Grant Morrison said "He saves the world. He does his job as Robin. He dies an absolute hero," leaving everybody to believe that maybe, just maybe, he was gone for good.

That was until Glorious Godfrey shows up looking for a Chaos Shard. Finding it in Damian's sarcophagus, Godfrey spirits it away, as well as Damian himself.

This leads the Dark Knight and the Bat Family on a quest to retrieve his son's body and culminates on Apokolips in an epic battle with Darkseid, where they steal back the corpse as well as the Chaos Shard before boom tubing back to Earth.

There he is given a choice: resurrect Damian or resurrect his parents. Choosing his son, Damian is reborn, proving that Bruce Wayne will always make the right choice.
