10 Best Transformers Comics Every Fan Must Read

6. Regeneration One

Transformers Optimus Prime IDW

Nostalgia is a powerful thing. That’s what initially propelled Regeneration One up the popularity charts. As for new readers, this still offers the satisfactory conclusion to what had begun with the Marvel Transformers comics.

Published following IDW’s acquisition of the Transformers comics license, this story is set over two decades after the ending of Transformers #80. What’s more, Simon Furman comes back on board to pen the arc.

Here, fans can accept a heavy dose of the classic Transformers formula that made the franchise so popular in the first place. Cybertron’s reign of peace comes to an end, as the renovated planet is invaded by the Decepticons, led by Soundwave.

Nostalgia is by no means the only thing driving this arc. The ending is widely considered as one of the best in the franchise. All and all, this brought a tremendous sense of closure to fans of the classic Transformer series, making it a must read for newcomers to the fandom.
