10 Best X-Men Costume Redesigns
7. Feline Beast
Dr. Henry McCoy was no stranger when it came to cosmetic changes. He had initially been a mutant that was relatively human looking with the exception of his big hands and feet. But in the '70s, Hank underwent a transformation in which he received blue fur which was more fitting of his name, Beast. This altered appearance of his would become one of the character's defining traits.
Unfortunately for the good doctor, this was not the end of his physical evolution as he underwent another mutation and received a feline appearance in the '00s during Grant Morrison's New X-Men run. Losing even more of his human features as well as gaining paws and a cat-like face, Beast's new look would be a part of his character arc. He feared that he was slowly losing his intelligence and was slowly devolving into an animal.
Thankfully, McCoy learned to live with his new appearance and his feline look would remain a staple for years with it being an inspiration for Nicholas Hoult's look in 2011's X-Men: First Class. However, he'd later undergo another mutation and transformed into an ape-like creature during the Marvel NOW era.
