You're probably not surprised Galactus is on this list, but it may not be the incarnation you are familiar with. When Marvel created a reboot of the comics for a modern audience called Ultimate Marvel, the writers revised many iconic characters including Galactus.

The Devourer of Worlds' original design as a giant humanoid with a space helmet was considered too dated for a modern audience, and so, the writers reworked him as Gah Lak Tus; a robotic swarm creature composed of billions of separate entities.

Now, regular Galactus is pretty intimidating, standing nearly 9 metres. However, Gah Lak Tus measures 100,000 miles long, making the being wider than Jupiter. Gah Lak Tus is so big, it could destroy Earth just by getting near it, since its gravitational pull would likely rip the planet apart.

Not only is Gah Lak Tus bigger than the original incarnation of the character, but he is far more powerful. He's so strong, the heroes of Earth didn't even defeat it upon their first encounter, and instead forced Gah Lak Tus to leave after they destroyed too many of its resources.
