7. Krakoa Means Life

House of X Moira
Marvel Comics

The establishment of the island nation of Krakoa brought about many changes in the lives of the mutants of the Marvel Universe, but there is one secret that they keep from the rest of the world that changed the landscape in a nearly unbelievable way. The Mutants have conquered death itself.

When they were putting things in motion for the creation of a nation for mutants, Moira MacTaggert and Charles Xavier believed the right combination of mutants could resurrect the dead. To facilitate this, Xavier and Magneto charged mutant geneticist Mr. Sinister to archive the genetic material of every mutant on the planet. Xavier had mutant inventor Forge create a Cerebro-style unit to house the consciousness of every mutant.

Once Krakoa was established, the Five were chosen. Egg creates an egg for the new body to form. Then they are ejected with DNA from Sinister’s archive and made viable by the reality-altering powers of Proteus. Elixir gives the eggs life and Tempus uses her time-altering powers to mature the mutant to adulthood. Hope Summers makes sure all things work in unison. A telepath then returns the consciousness of the person to the body and that mutant is born anew. The Five follows strict Resurrection Protocols and the resurrections are something the X-Men do not share with their fellow superheroes or anyone else.
