3. Donatello Is Reborn As A Robot - Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (2015) #45
As the tech-wiz of the Ninja Turtles, it's perhaps inevitable that when Donatello faces a potentially deadly injury in TMNT #45, his consciousness is instead transferred into a Metalhead robot, which is exactly as stressful for him as it sounds.
On the plus side though, during his time as a robot Donatello still gets to do his part for the team, using his robo-powers to do everything from ferry Splinter across water with a boat transformation, to electrocuting enemies who come after them.
And, in truly dramatic fashion, robo-Don also manages to be useful with his death, by exploding and stopping the villains after the team. This isn't as heartbreaking as it initially appears, though, as when the smoke clears a fully restored Donatello is in the wreckage, having been healed enough to reside once more in his legitimate body.
