In-universe, the Hellfire Gala was meant to be a showcase of mutant culture and prosperity on their new island nation of Krakoa. It also is quite notable because it featured several real-life celebrity cameos.

You may have seen some of it over Twitter last summer as the event reached out to celebs from a large range of backgrounds and fanbases. Just to give you a sense of the sheer quantity of guests, Marvel posted a guest list that included: Scott Adsit, Pete Alonso, Steve Aoki, Saquon Barkley, DMC, Eminem, Nick Foles, Ira Glass, Gabriel Iglesias, Aaron Judge, Jimmy Kimmel, Method Man, Seth Meyers, Conan O'Brien, Coco Gauff, James Monroe Iglehart, Jason Mantzoukas, Mark Maron, George R. R. Martin, Killer Mike, Alex Morgan, Patton Oswalt, El-P, Megan Rapinoe, Adrianne Palicki, Paul Scheer, and Taboo.

And that's not even all the guests!

But perhaps the most interesting invitee was Kevin Feige, who makes a brief appearance talking to Cyclops in X-Men #21. Feige, for those not in the know, is the father of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Obviously, Marvel has reacquired the X-Men film rights and all signs point to their inclusion in future films. This is just another check mark reaffirming what we already knew. But still, it's very cool to see.
