8. Dawn Turns Into A Centaur

You don't know the half of it. Dawn actually starts out Season 8 as a giant, having been cursed by her (now ex-)boyfriend Kenny, a fellow undergrad at Dawn's college who turned out to be a thricewise (read: wizard) when she cheated on him and lost her virginity to his best friend. Yes, Buffy's still a soap opera through-and-through, though with the odd dash of mystical curses and shape-changing here and there. Dawn soon turns into a centaur, though not before going on a Toho-esque rampage through Tokyo and fighting a mecha-version of herself (yes, really). Her equine form is slightly more practical, although it makes for awkward conversation when Xander needs to ride her through the forest. It doesn't last long, though, as Dawn eventually becomes doll-sized and thus easily kidnappable before being returned to her human form and making amends with Kenny. Well, if that's not a cautionary tale, what is?
