5. The Buffybot Gets Knocked Up

Well, one of them does, anyway. It's kind of hard to keep track of quite how many there are these days. Toward the start of Season 9, Buffy has a few too many at a house party and ends up blacking out shortly before missing her period and coming to the conclusion that she's pregnant. What follows are a couple of issues detailing her indecision over whether to keep the child or not, the result of which would have been a bold statement to make in comics and popular fiction in general...except that decision is taken completely out of her hands by the story's conclusion. Which is...well, the title kind of gives it away, doesn't it? It turns out that Buffy missed her period because she was actually inhabiting the body of one of the Buffybots Warren Mears invented and his old friend/former villainous counterpart Andrew still keeps on hand for those times when he needs to drug Buffy at a party and switch her minds with an automaton to "keep her safe". At least his heart was in the right place, eh?
