10 Characters Marvel And DC Don't Know What To Do With

8. Captain Marvel

Spider-Woman New Outfit
Marvel Comics

2019's Captain Marvel made a billion dollars at the box office, making it the most successful superheroine film of all time. Because of this, you would assume her comics would be trending like crazy.

Ironically, since Carol Danvers has relinquished her title as Ms. Marvel and took on the mantle of Captain Marvel, her comic has been relaunched pretty much every two years. By comparison, the original Captain Marvel's series ran for over a decade. In eight years, Carol Danvers' version of Captain Marvel has been cancelled and restarted at least four times.

Despite how this sounds, Danvers has played a huge role in recent comics. She was one of the central conflicts in Civil War II, played a vital role in Secret Empire, set up the Carol Corps, became a recurring Avenger once more, and had her origin rebooted. It's clear that Marvel is trying to push her into the big leagues but her comics are simply not selling. Her 2017 run was cancelled after five issues. FIVE!

When her current series eventually runs its course, I hope Marvel does something more bold than simply relaunching the comic for the umpteenth time.
