10 Characters Who Have Defeated Apocalypse

Taking place in the past in around 1013 AD, a mysterious time traveler has come to warn Apocalypse about present enemies he must deal with otherwise they'll become future threats.

Thor is one such threat.

At this period in time the Asgardian has not yet acquired Mjolnir, and instead he wields the battle axe, Jarnbjorn.

Following the guidance of the time-traveling benefactor, Apocalypse appears before Thor and drags him into a battle in which he is heavily favorite to win, due to the fact Jarnbjorn cannot pierce his armor. Realizing as much, Thor concedes the battle to his enemy, acknowledging that going on will only cost him his life.

Apocalypse wins the first round and Thor goes back Asgard to seek assistance. His father, Odin doesn't provide the assistance he seeks, telling him to let it go, but the hot-headed god of thunder will not listen and it's his brother, Loki, that provides the assistance.

Things go differently this time around, as Thor can now combat Apocalypse and he wins the rematch. Unbeknownst to him, however, he plants the seeds for future confrontations...
