10 Characters Who Should Appear In Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol. 3
8. Quasar
One of Marvel's main cosmic heroes, Quasar is both an Avenger and a close ally of the Guardians of the Galaxy.
Wendell Vaughn was a SHIELD agent who was tasked with guarding Project Pegasus, the agency's research lab for alien artefacts. When AIM attacked them to steal the Quantum Bands, a pair of alien bracelets that gave their user great power, Wendell put them on to defeat the invaders and became the superhero known as Quasar.
The Quantum Bands give their wearer a vast array of powers, including the ability to teleport through space and to control almost all forms of energy. The bands made Quasar one of Marvel's most powerful heroes and for many years he served as the official Protector of the Universe until he eventually died trying to stop the Annihilation Wave (more on that later).
He later returned though (to the surprise of no-one) and joined a new team to replace the Guardians when they temporarily disbanded. The Annihilators were a team of incredibly powerful heroes like Silver Surfer, Ronan and Beta Ray Bill who acted to prevent disasters that threatened to wipe out the entire universe.
Quasar is a key component of Marvel's cosmic stories and his appearance in the movies in some form or another seems almost inevitable if they want to expand that corner of their universe.
