10 Classic Villains Reimagined By Batman '66

3. Bane

Batman 66 Harley Quinn
DC Comics

People waited a long time to see Bane in the Batman '66 comics, and in issue 27, the wait finally paid off.

The man who broke the bat in this universe is a feared and respected luchador wrestler and ruler of Skull City, Mexico.

His seemingly superhuman strength is derived from a "venom" created by a mystical crystal skull. After the previous Mayor of Skull City decides to destroy Bane's power source, Bane take it upon himself to steal another from Gotham Museum with help from the Riddler.

But does this Bane perform his signature hobby of snapping the Batman's spine? Yes! Well, kind of. He defeats the Caped Crusader by seemingly breaking him during a wrestling match, but a well placed Batarang on Batman's back protects him from receiving any real damage!
