10 Comic Book Characters Who Are Just TOO POWERFUL!

5. The Spectre

Kingdom Come Superman
DC Comics

The Spectre has been part of DC canon since 1940, originally appearing in a crime comic as an immortal, omniscient spirit of vengeance and justice.

The Spectre's human host, Jim Corrigan was a cop killed in the line of duty. When Corrigan arrived in Heaven, DC's version of God gave him a mission to return to Earth to become a judge of good and evil.

Unlike many of the cosmic DC heroes, The Spectre has no concerns with physically intervening in the events of mankind as he constantly searches for and delivers justice. He is invulnerable, has unlimited strength that lets him move planets and moons (potentially even stronger than the current Superman), can manipulate time and space, and isn't above a punch-up when needed.

The Spectre's host is what keeps the entity from completely losing all touch with humanity in his never-ending fight to eliminate evil. A few times when there has been no human host for The Spectre, the character goes on murderous rampages of punishment for all crimes, without proper judgement, one time even besting uber-powerful characters Black Adam, Doctor Fate, and Shazam.

The Spectre is basically one step below God in the DC pantheon of cosmic beings.
