10 Comic Book Characters Who Have NEVER Had Their Identities Exposed

5. Black Noir

Hal Jordan Green Lantern
Dynamite Entertainment

If you're only familiar with The Boys from the first season of the Amazon series, you may only know Black Noir as the strange and mysterious superhero who never said anything, and was barely seen throughout the events of the show. In the comics, he's been fleshed out, and his identity is rather interesting.

If you're not looking to spoil season two and beyond for The Boys, you may want to stop reading and skip to the next superhero, because, if the show follows the comics, there are SPOILERS AHEAD!

Black Noir is enigmatic by nature, and he doesn't say very much, but there's a reason for that; he's a clone of the Homelander. He's not a perfect clone though; the guy is utterly insane, and all of the horrible events the readers watched Homelander do throughout the series, that was actually Black Noir having a little fun.

He was created from a refined Compound-V by the Vought-America corporation as a contingency plan in case Homelander ever went rogue. He was intended to kill Homelander, and replace him in the event that happened, but because Homelander never did anything to warrant replacement, he went insane. He was eventually killed, but his true identity and purpose remained a closely guarded corporate secret in The Boys' universe.
