10 Comic Book Deaths That Haven't Been Undone
3. Thomas And Martha Wayne
Thomas and Martha Wayne are intrinsic to Batmans story. If they hadnt been gunned down in Crime Alley by the mugger Joe Chill, Bruce Wayne probably wouldn't have become a vigilante at all. Its understandable, then, that their deaths havent ever been undone within the main DC Comics continuity. One notable what if? story about Bruces parents emerged in 2011 with the publication of the Flashpoint comics.
Therein, it was posited by writer Geoff Johns that - in an alternate universe where Bruce got killed in lieu of his parent - perhaps Thomas would become Batman and Martha the Joker. But thats never happened in the main DC universe. The closest weve come to a resurrection for Thomas and Martha was when Ras al Ghul threatened to use one of his reincarnating Lazarus Pits on Bruces parents, bringing them back as decomposed zombies. Naturally, Bruce managed to stop him.
Let's hope nothing like that ever happens, because bringing Bruce's parents back would be pure sacrilege.
