Britt Reid aka The Green Hornet ended up getting trapped in China during an invasion by the Imperial Japanese Army. During this time he rescued a man from the Japanese whose name was Kato. Because of this selfless act, Kato pledges his loyalty to the green masked hero.

The Green Hornet is no doubt a formidable fighter when it comes to combat - armed with a gun that shoots knock out gas and a long-range taser. But the man he mentors has a bit more going for him.

Kato is a master martial arts expert having been trained in this deadly form of combat his entire life. The Green Hornet’s sidekick has a mastery of Bushido, which is the samurai way of life. This discipline and skill set allows him to efficiently utilize traditional weapons as well as be able to roundhouse kick a man through a wall.

The Green Hornet seems to get all the glory. But when the going gets tough, and all the knockout gas and Hornet Stings can’t get the job done, he knows when to tag Kato in. And he’s probably pretty thankful the masked chauffeur warrior is on his side.
