10 Comic Book Sidekicks Better Than Their Mentors
4. Nightwing
Batman is undoubtedly one of the most gifted strategists, and skilled martial artist's in the entire DC universe. The one other thing the caped crusader is notoriously known for is having a ton of sidekicks. But of all his loyal compadres, the most lethal and formidable of all the boy wonders is the original, Dick Grayson.
Grayson quit the Robin gig to become Nightwing, who is similar to Batman in many ways. Both of these vigilantes have experienced great tragedy in their families. Wayne taught Dick everything he knows so his ability to strategize and sleuth is close to Bruce's. Besides brains, the two have trained very thoroughly in the art of combat. But Grayson started at a much younger age giving him a slight advantage over Bruce Wayne.
Nightwing's strong acrobatic background also is advantageous when Bludhaven's hero battles Gotham's Caped Crusader. Batman is agile, but the prince of Gotham never ran away to join the circus, leaving him with just his belt of gadgets tossing batarangs at a tumbling Grayson flipping all over the room.
If the two were too battle in a gadget-free no-holds-barred weaponless brawl, Nightwing's agility gives him the edge over Batman.
