10 Comic Book Storylines To Link The Fantastic Four And X-Men Films

1. Astonishing X-Men

If you're really looking to adapt from the Marvel Studios Formula, why not go right to the head man and borrow from Joss Whedon? In Whedon's epic Astonishing X-Men, the team has to travel to the Breakworld and face an extra-terrestrial threat that ends up resurrecting Colossus. Again, it would be pretty reasonable to remove any elements not licensed to Fox on this one €“ even properties that have no claim in it like the agency SWORD €“ by simply deferring to the resources of the Fantastic Four. Imagine a space epic where the two teams have to travel to the Breakworld and defeat the threat of Ord €“ an unstoppable physical force €“ all while exploring the psychological elements of characters like Cyclops, Beast, Wolverine, Emma Frost, Reed Richards, and the Thing. Of course, it would certainly require that all of those characters are reasonably resurrected and alive for the rosters to match, but as Fox has shown time and again the roster doesn't matter for the story to be adapted.
