10 Comic Book Superheroes Who Created Their Own Worst Enemy
4. Hank Pym And Ultron
Doctor Hank Pym is one of the smartest people on earth, and as such has created hundreds of devices that even in this day and age are still decades away from becoming reality. From a suit that can shrink to the size of an ant or grow taller than skyscrapers, to a worldwide company on par with Stark Industries, Pym helped millions of people use science to improve their lives.
But Hank was also a man full of ambition and pride in his super intelligence, which led to the first Ant-Man creating something he could not control, a small robotic assistant named Ultron. Ultron almost immediately became self-aware and decided to rebel against its master. It did this by somehow wiping Hank Pym's memory so he didn't even remember creating the highly intelligent robot.
Ultron quickly began upgrading itself, jumping between bodies and expanding its consciousness and powers until eventually, Ultron became a being powerful enough to defeat the Avengers singlehandedly.
Ultron even followed in his father's footsteps, creating its own highly intelligent robot that rebelled and became an Avenger known as The Vision, which was seen in the MCU film Avengers: Age of Ultron.
