10 Comic Books You Didn't Know Were Written By Celebrities

4. M.O.D.O.K.: Head Games - Patton Oswalt

Umbrella Academy Gerard Way
Marvel Comics

Nerds love Rosario Dawson because she is one of them, but this is nothing compared to Patton Oswalt. The man is a comic book screen legend, after a multitude of roles including the Koenigs in Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., and most recently Pip the Troll in the MCU, among many, many others.

In 2021, he lent his voice to the newly animated version of M.O.D.O.K. on Hulu, and while the series didn't last very long, being canceled after just one season, this wouldn't be the actor's only involvement with the character. Though his voice perfectly matched this more relateable and domesticated version of the character, Oswalt had so much more to offer.

Along with M.O.D.O.K.'s showrunner, Jordan Blum, Patton Oswalt created a four-part M.O.D.O.K. series as something of a precursor to the animated show and the family he would find.

As with many of the titles on this list, it would seem that Head Games has already seen its entire run come and go. Without a M.O.D.O.K. TV series for it to accompany moving forward, the titular character will likely have to find another series to call home. If it has anything more to do with Gwenpool however, you can count this writer in.
