10 Comic Characters Who STOLE Batman's Identity
9. Jason Todd - Battle For The Cowl
Poor old Jason - the guy hasn't had the best life since his run-in with the Batman all those years ago. Or his death at the hands of the Joker in DC's Death in the Family storyline, after fans voted to kill him off.
Prior to Jason's new, more relaxed persona as the Red Hood in the Rebirth timeline, he was a vicious and callous killer hellbent on revenge against Batman.
Pre-New 52 era Jason was always unstable, and entirely unpredictable as to what he might do. During Final Crisis, Bruce Wayne was presumed dead and the role of The Bat along with him, forcing Jason to realise his misplaced anger was for nothing.
In true Red Hood manner, he did what any insane estranged adopted child of a billionaire would do, and decided to become the next Batman. Similar to Azrael, Jason didn't adhere to the no guns and no murder side of the Bat persona, and brandished two pistols with an admittedly awesome looking Batsuit.
His Batman career was cut short, however, when his fated duel with Nightwing climaxed with Jason being thrown into the icy depths of Gotham harbour.
