7. The Phantom Stranger

The Phantom Stranger is a cosmically aware immortal with vast magical powers. Very little is known about him - except in the New 52 when he was rewritten as Judas Iscariot, but let's just pretend that never happened.

Because of his cryptic nature and tendency to fight paranormal threats, it's no surprise that he was a member of the Justice League Dark alongside other mystical heroes like Dead Man, Constantine, and Swamp Thing.

However, he also served on the official Justice League team. In Justice League of America #103, the Leaguers assisted with a Halloween party when the sorcerer, Felix Faust, used a spell to make the partygoers attack the League.

Since the Stranger has experience dealing with dark magic, he took it upon himself to assist the JLA. After they succeeded in thwarting Faust's plan, the League officially made the Stranger a member, only to learn he had vanished without a trace.

The weirdest moment in this story is how the costumed citizens that the League fight are all dressed as parodies of Marvel characters; Webslinger (Spider-Man), Thundergod (Thor), and Commando America (Captain America). Weirdly, this isn't the only time DC created a parody of Cap...
