10 Comic Heroes You Weren't Supposed To Like

Throughout comic history, there have been many characters that have found themselves fighting the good fight, or helping those around them, but only for their own personal gain or interests. If they weren't about to benefit personally from such good deeds, they wouldn't even think about getting involved.

Lobo, one of DC's most popular characters throughout the early 1990's, has carved himself a legacy as such an anti-hero, however this description is particularly flattering for the character. With the things he has done, Lobo shouldn't be described as anything other than a murderous villain.

The Last Czarnian, a title he earned by wiping out the rest of his otherwise peaceful race, is a cold hearted bounty hunter, happy to kill for whoever offers him the most money. The name Lobo actually translates to 'he who devours your entrails and thoroughly enjoys it'. How is it possible that a character like this could possibly find himself with such a loyal fanbase?

Lobo certainly didn't connect with fans straight away, as his debut in the 1980's was followed by a decade of obscurity. It wasn't until the 90's that fans fell in love with this particular genocidal maniac.
