10 Comic Heroes You Weren't Supposed To Like

4. Booster Gold

Some characters on this list were supposed to be disliked because of either their past, their questionable methods, or the fact that they were initially introduced as straight up villains. Booster Gold however, was certainly a hero, and had no skeletons in his closet, he was just a bit of a d*ck.

Michael Jon Carter was a wonderfully gifted athlete from 25th century Gotham, who was disgraced after purposefully throwing football games so he and his father could bet against him and win big. He decided to find a way to travel to the 20th century, becoming a superhero in the process.

Even with something as noble as this, the character found a way to make it selfish. He only became a superhero so he could live comfortably, and even after achieving his goal, he milked it for all it was worth. The money, the fame, and the glory was truly why Carter became Booster Gold.

The hero's new found fame went to his head, and he continued to be a self-obsessed, shameless self-promoter and show off, even after joining the Justice League. Supposedly no one likes a show off, but this super hero eventually found a way into the hearts of fans despite his less than ideal personality.
