10 Comic Villains You Didn't Realise Actually Won

9. Robot - Invincible

Injustice 2 Darkseid
Image Comics

If you read through the Invincible series, chances are you think Robot - a hero who turns full villain for 'the greater good', and also his own ego - gets his just desserts at the end of the series. After all, he's literally a brain in a jar at the end, existing solely so that his intelligence may be used in order to guide the world's leader, the Immortal Man, in what to do.

However, it's not as though the changes he made went away overnight. The drastic changes he made to the world when he managed to murder his way into being the Director of the Global Defence Agency still remain, and continue to make the world an easier place to live in. As much as pretty much everything he insane genius did was messed up, they did get results, leaving him a lingering victory as they continue to improve lives.

Indeed, even after he's given his new jar home, Robot still gets to make those decisions from behind the scenes - so even this loss of sorts still lets him have a position of power like he always wanted.

But he is still a brain in a jar, so it is a win that comes at a bit of a high cost.
