When your dad is a superhero who is training you, you'd imagine that your life - and moral code - is more or less helpfully set out for you before you even have to think about your superhero name.

For Mark, however, his life and heroic career become infinitely more complicated because of his dear old dad. Because Omni-Man turns out to have ulterior motives for protecting Earth - namely, the motive that his alien race wants to take it over, and so he's been playing mother hen with it until they can show up.

When he reveals this to Mark, the young hero forgoes everything his dad has taught him as the pair get in a fight.

While there is no way Mark can win, Nolan can't find it in himself to kill his own boy, leading to the pair eventually reconciling.
