10 Comics To Make Haters Love Comics Again
4. Batman And Robin (Vol. 2)
The second volume of Batman and Robin is, by all means, exactly how Batman works best. It's got all the badassery the character so sorely deserves, while also making sure to emphasise that he's more than just a cold unfeeling brood-machine, shown perfectly through him building a proper paternal relationship with his son, Damian, who was the newest addition to the Bat-family when the series came out.
For anyone who's ever been frustrated at the lack of character development and change in comics - especially in the Batman franchise - this series should come as a breath of fresh air, as the bizarre father-son duo evolve and grow issue by issue, with the pacing never feeling rushed or needlessly slowed.
Amazingly, all of this is manages without ever sacrificing the quality of the mysteries the pair solve, or the villains they fight, who are all delightfully engaging, just for that extra cherry on top.
