If video games and professional wrestling have shown us anything its that people love a good old fashioned battle royale. Nothing screams greatness like a bunch of everyone's favorite characters battling for sheer survival, which probably explains why 1984's Secret Wars event was such a big deal.

This out of this world event can only be described as the Wrestlemania of Marvel's finest. Here, the cosmic entity known as The Beyonder summoned Earth's Mightiest Heroes and villains to compete in a battle for the ages.

The MCU is definitely a ways away from bringing this Hunger Games-esque storyline to life but it still has some ties to Endgame. The fourth Avengers film is rumored to be dealing with time travel and will most likely see our heroes reliving past Marvel events. Fans can expect to see a plethora of superheroes and evildoers, some who have kicked the bucket in earlier iterations, along the way to stopping Thanos' Decimation.

The players involved in Endgame will definitely not disappoint when it comes to throwing down. But if fans want to see one of the greatest marvel mashups ever created, Secret Wars is a solid appetizer before the next Avengers film is served.
