10 Comics You Must Read Before Avengers: Endgame

6. Captain America: Reborn

Captain America has had a rough go of it in his time in the MCU. He has had to leave every organization he's worked with and is constantly regarded as a traitor despite his obvious continued devotion to patriotism. But all good things must come to an end and the First Avenger is poised to hang up the shield in the upcoming Avengers: Endgame.

Steve Rogers hasn't had much of an easier time in the comics. The poor guy can't catch a break, but the one thing he is very good at it is redemption. The one story that shows what Cap is really made of in that department is Captain America: Reborn.

In Reborn, Rogers is lost in time and presumed dead. Cap must battle his way through his own tragic history to stand alongside his allies against his arch nemesis the Red Skull. It is a definite must-read for any Cap fanatic.

In honor of Avengers: Endgame presumably being Captain America's last rodeo, Reborn is a great Steve Rogers story that really explores the meaning behind his Identity. Not only that, but Ed Brubaker, Bryan Hitch and Butch Guice's epic story also serves as a solid place holder before we all witness Cap's last stand in Endgame.
