10 Coolest And Weirdest Alternate Versions Of Batman
3. Owlman
Not to be confused with another similarly dressed Batman analogue from the Watchmen comics, the mantle of this avian adversary is held by multiple characters across multiple stories.
Owlman makes his first appearance in 1964’s Justice League of America #29, with his civilian identity never revealed. He has appeared in other stories various times over the years since, and is presented in more recent iterations with the true identity, Thomas Wayne Jr.
A particularly recent iteration can be found in the Forever Evil storyline where he is a member of the Crime Syndicate, featuring a cast of evil alternate heroes. He comes from Earth 3, and takes up the Owlman mantle after his parents are murdered by their butler Alfred Pennyworth.
Counter to the sentiment of his deceased brother, Earth 3 Bruce Wayne, Owlman has always held contempt for his parents, as they have always demonstrated unpleasant, abusive and psychopathic behaviour.
