The Flashpoint timeline depicts an alternate series of canonical events leading to a dystopian DC world. In this timeline Bruce Wayne is killed in place of his parents, the trauma of the event driving them both to madness. Martha Wayne becomes the Joker, and Thomas, Batman.

However, he is far less restrained than Bruce’s Batman, and kills criminals in a vengeful war on crime. He kills Joe Chill right away, reaping vengeance with a fatal beating.
