10 Crazy Comic Books Way Better Than They Had Any Right To Be

8. Spider-Man And The X-Men

Superior Spider Man
Marvel Comics

When Marvel decided to kill off Wolverine in 2014, they created a problem for themselves and the solution which they came up with was one nobody would have expected.

Starting in 2011 Wolverine was leading his own X-Men title which saw him teaching a class of teenage delinquents at the Jean Grey school. Wolverine And The X-Men was a big hit and it's cast of misfits had built a strong following but with the titular Wolverine dead the series had to die too ... or did it?

In comes one of the most random characters to fill the vacant teaching position left by Wolverine: none other than Spider-Man himself. To be clear, Spidey is not teaching the class as Peter Parker - who at this point has some high school teaching experience - but fully in costume as Spider-Man.

Why this technically non-mutant superhero is called in to teach this class full of mutants is only one of the many questions inherent in this premise.

Luckily, most of those questions are answered by the end of the six issue series.

Keeping the feel of Wolverine and the X-Men, this series is a seamless continuation but with Spider-Man in the driver's seat, it becomes a wild ride fast. Spider-Man and the X-Men is chaotic and fun, the perfect upbeat adventure to counter the downer ending of the first series.
