1. Thanos Allies With The Forces Of Earth
Because Annihilus and Thanos desire to cause maximum destruction to the universe, the pair have teamed up on several occasions. But no dictator wants to hog the spotlight so it was only a matter of time before the two turned on one another.
In the story, Thanos: The Infinity Finale, Annihilus launches an attack on the entire universe. As he murders Galactus, slaughters the Sh'iar, and wipes out the Celestials, Thanos realises his enemy's forces are too powerful to face alone.
With his own allies dead, Thanos has no choice but to work alongside Earth's heroes and villains. Not only does the Mad Titan ally with the forces of Earth; he leads them! Since he knows how to combat Annihilus best, heroes like the X-Men, Captain Marvel, and Thor knew they had to rely on the Titan's tactical mind to stand a chance against the tyrannical insect.
What makes this team-up so crazy is it is canonical. This isn't a parallel universe or a What If? scenario. The same Thanos that wiped out half the universe in The Infinity Gauntlet sage lead the Avengers, championed Earth's warriors, and fought side-by-side with Thor and Nightcrawler.
