2. Doctor Strange And The Sorcerer Supremes
When Merlin learned that a creature called The Forgotten threatened the world of magic, he had Doctor Strange join forces with Sorcerer Supremes of the past, present, and future.
This team included Wiccan, The Conjuror, The Mindful One, a Native-American Ghost Rider, and a teenage Ancient One. However, the most peculiar member of the already eclectic group was the renowned physicist, Isaac Newton. In Marvel Comics, not only is Newton a Sorcerer Supreme, he was the leader of SHIELD and Galileo's murderer!
Newton eventually showed his true colours, revealing he only allied with Strange so he could locate The Word of God; a book he believed would turn him into a deity. However, The Word of God unleashed a malevolent entity called The Author, who vowed to destroy all of reality. Strange managed to vanquish the foe by allying with Newton, the Sorcerer Supremes, the Avengers, and Howard the Duck (who is technically a sorcerer).
Just to be clear, Strange teamed up with a spell-casting bird and Isaac Newton (who turned out to be a supervillain wizard) so he could fight an evil book. Comic book team-ups don't get weirder than that.
