6. Avengers One Million BC
Thor's father, Odin, is the All-Father, meaning he is responsible for safe-guarding The Nine Realms. (There is actually Ten Realms but that's a whole other kettle of fish.)
One of these realms is Earth (which the Asgardians call "Midgard"), but Odin usually leaves this world alone since it's protected by superheroes like The X-Men and The Avengers.
But that wasn't always the case. A million years ago, an insane Celestial landed on Earth, intending to tear the planet apart. Odin's power may be mighty but even he couldn't take on a foe of this magnitude.
To avoid the Earth being torn asunder, Odin assembled the world's first superhero team; Avengers of One Million BC. The team was made up of the All-Father, Lady Phoenix, and Stone Age versions of Black Panther, Ghost Rider, Iron Fist, and Starbrand. (Because there were no motorcycles back then, this Ghost Rider rides a fiery mammoth, which is beyond awesome).
Odin states his prehistoric Avengers saved the world more times than he can count, usually against time-travellers who travelled to the dawn of humanity to shape reality to their benefit.
