10 Criminally Underrated Comic Book Runs EVERYONE Missed

5. Daredevil - Ed Brubaker & Michael Lark

Daredevil has more legendary runs than pretty much any Marvel character in existence, because, for some reason or another, the best in the biz just keep on coming back to him. Dennis O'Neil, Frank Miller, Ann Nocenti, Brian Bendis - these are just some of the names who have graced the book over the years, with the likes of Mark Waid and Charles Soule the most recent to contribute.

However, there's another run that tends to get overlooked by True Believers - Ed Brubaker and Michael Lark's - and it may be because of two factors. First off, Brian Bendis and Alex Maleev had only just wrapped up their stint on the book, and it was phenomenal; second, Brubaker was actually working his magic on Captain America at the same time, marshalling Steve Rogers in a run with Steve Epting that would later be considered as one of the character's best.

In this instance, there was an abundance of amazing works emerging from the House of Ideas, and because Bendis' run laid the groundwork for Brubaker's, many seem to forget that some of the best Daredevil stories of the 2000s came from the latter's hand, with The Devil in Cell-Block D kicking things off spectacularly in 2006.

Brubaker and Lark's run was still highly regarded, but it tends to get omitted from conversations surrounding the all-time great Daredevil runs, perhaps because it was sandwiched in between the aforementioned series and later Mark Waid's.
