10 Criminally Underrated Super Teams In DC Comics

5. Fearsome Five

Not every villain team has to be a cadre upper-tier, galaxy threatening baddies. Some of the best stories do not necessarily need the world hanging in the balance to be told effectively, and if there's a group who can pose a threat without being considered world-ending, it's the Fearsome Five.

Perennially seen as a mid-tier villain team, telepath/telekinetic Psimon leads siblings Mammoth and Shimmer along with Jinx and Gizmo had a limited, but effective run as a foil for teams like the reformed Teen Titans and the Outsiders.

One of the best bits about teams is their composition, and The Fearsome Five does not disappoint.

Psimon supports the team with psychic abilities, while Mammoth is the brutish muscle. Gizmo can construct various technological wonders, with Jinx providing a magical element and Shimmer rounding out the group as a powerful metahuman possessing the ability to shift elements on a molecular level.

In the right hands, a team like that can be a threat to any team, but often have their goals set far further than their talents might indicate. Given their potential, however, the five could be an absolutely devastating unit if handled properly.
