Even though Harley Quinn's role in the DC Universe reflects more of an anti-hero leaning, she nevertheless has moments of heroism within other continuities. For example, she is clearly seen as a hero within the Injustice comic book series.

Although Harley started off as an assistant to the Joker’s mad scheme of destroying Superman’s spirit, it was nevertheless in the aftermath of his death that she had finally realized her true potential as a solo act. Now far away from the Joker's influence, Harley finds genuine purpose in fighting against the developing Superman regime, as a member of Batman’s resistance organization. She was also one of the more optimistic ones of the bunch, where she had an incredible tenacity to keep fighting even against heavy hitters like Shazam.

Harley would then later become instrumental in the regime’s eventual defeat, by establishing an anarchist following of civilians who worked to both undermine the regime’s control over the world, as well as ensure the protection of those who had suffered under the regime's might.
