10 Deadliest Comic Book Assassins (That You'd Totally Hire)

7. David Cain

Deathstroke Justice League
DC

A huge part of Batman's prowess is how he uses his wits, tools, and fists with no superpowers. But all those things are useless without training - where did Bruce learn the multiple fighting skills he mastered?

While Bruce had several teachers growing up, the most impactful among them was David Cain. Cain taught Bruce the more unsavoury aspects of violence, many of which Bruce swore to never use as they were lethal.

Cain charges top dollar to kill the unkillable, including several of the most powerful and 'untouchable' people in the world, and only failing to execute a contract on Batman when he observed his daughter Cassandra working alongside the Dark Knight.

Cassandra was the product of a forced liaison between Cain and Lady Shiva. Cain raised Cassandra in virtual solitude, seldom even speaking to her, as he wanted her only communication skills to consist of watching an opponent's body language and the arts of combat. While his goal was to raise a perfect partner, his abusive parenting of Cassandra led her to run away at an early age, eventually becoming Batgirl, then Orphan.

He wasn't much of a parent, but he's one of the finest assassins in DC's world.
